Natural Gas Opening
Statement
Motion: Natural gas
is an inexpensive way to get fuel.
Over the years gas
prices have been going up in price causing our heads to spin in circles. Then it goes down letting us breathe. This is the same for Natural gas. In 2008
there was a spike in the industrial price making us pay $8.76 for an annual
fee. As of 2012 the price has gone down to a very low price of $5.76 as an
annual fee. Over the years the price of
natural gas has gone down by 73% between 2008 and 2012. Natural gas is not only
a cheaper was to get gas, It also a better choice because it doesn’t have as
many greenhouse gasses as let’s say propane.
Why would someone go to all the trouble of picking a different gas that
might harm their families, and the environment, when you could go for something
that is much safer? Some may say that natural gas is not cheap at all because
of the drilling costs and the amount of land you need to extract natural gas,
but when you really think about it, It takes the same amount of money and time
to extract other forms of gas in the united states. By using natural gas we are
not only allowing people to have the opportunity to have a cleaner type of gas,
we are also giving out jobs to thousands of people at the same time. Having natural
gas lowers the electricity bills for homeowners, businesses, and industries and
saving money for other investments that need to take place in the United
States. In the last 10 years America has
spent good money on a gas that is more environmentally friendly and safer for
us. So why go to all of the trouble to spend more money on gas that is more
expensive and had for the environment when we can just go for natural gas?
Closing Statement
Today I have talked
about the benefit of having cheaper gas with Natural gas. I have told you about
how natural gas has had a 73% drop in
its price since 2008. Natural gas may seem to be more expensive because of the
drilling costs and the costs of time and land that it takes to extract natural
gas, In reality though all types of gasses do not have a cheap label on them
when it comes to removing them from the ground so that we are able to use
them. Natural gas is not on going down
in price but it is also helping millions of people to get jobs and it is benefiting
a healthier choice everyone. Why go to all of the trouble to make a gas that
contains various greenhouse gases that not only are bad for people and the
environment, but is also more expensive when we can have a gas that has a lower
amount of greenhouse gases, and still leaves us with money to spend on other
various expenses. Natural Gas is not
only cheap but as my partners have explained it contains many more beneficial
factors making it a gas that we all should use.
